I first heard about the blendtec from my friend. it was like drinking smoothies from a smoothie Starbucks or something. sooooo good. Plus i love the digital interface. I went ahead and got the Blendtec Designer series model and it is EVEN COOLER than the one my friend has and not as loud. My family comes over and want demonstrations all the time. Love it!
I just got my blendtec in the mail it’s amazing! I have run it 10 times in 24 hours! My fav is the whole juice button. It’s really cool to watch whole fruit turn into juice within seconds and you don’t lose the fiber…love love love it
Smoooooooth smoothies BUT I don’t like wearing them! After the lid flew off spewing the contents all over my kitchen for the third time, I realized I’d just have to make the best of this and hold the lid in place during use. The cover is just too shallow -just abut 1/2 inch of gripping surface and cannot be depended upon to stay on the jar, despite “snapping it in”, chopping all ingredients before adding them and filling the jar to the recommended level- which is just about 1/2 full -so why boast of a 90 oz. jar when only half the space is usable? To summarize:
pros- easy clean up, smooth results, great looking and fits under the cabinet. Cons: re-engineer the cover–I never had this problem with my Kitchenaid-it threaded/screwed on, or my Cuisinart with its deep tight fitting cover.
Jar can’t be used at capacity, so green smoothies will have to be made in batches; and
machine vibrates/dances around the work surface at the higher speeds; either make the base heavier or, like the Cuisinart, add a large rubber gripping pad at each corner. A bit of re-engineering and this would ne a great machine.
